SOME OF THE BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATIONS IN SYDNEY
Hours of a wedding day are devoted to the art of making memories so choose a location that brings out your beautiful side! Lucky for you, picturesque scenes are a common feature in Sydney so you won’t have to wander too far for a breathtaking setting. Below are some of our favourite wedding photography locations.
Turimetta Beach is a small 350m beach located north of Narrabeen, Bordered by Turimetta Head to the north and Narrabeen Head to the south. The beautiful golden sands, unspoilt beauty and lovely slab rocks make Turimetta a favourite for photographers.
Turimetta is also very sheltered from local light making it great for night landscape photography. There is no illumination on the beaches or rocks with the exception of some spill lighting from North Narrabeen tidal pool.
Squids Ink Jetty
On the NSW Central Coast and Lake Macquarie areas, photographers are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a variety of different jetties to visit with their camera. Another jetty to add to this growing list is Squid's Ink Jetty at Belmont. The jetty is quite elegant and makes for very beautiful photos.
Due to it's location, Windang Island is a great spot to photograph both sunrise and sunset - Although you can appreciate the scenery at any time of day. This location is unique due to the remains which have been left, when an attempt to create a harbour in the 1890's was abandoned. These rusted wheel and axle sets, also known as the 'Wheels of Windang', have become popular over the years and have created a mysterious focal point for photographers.
You could do a great photo-walk around this whole location, there are so many spots to chose from. People find themselves constantly going back and exploring new places there. Bare Island is the obvious place to go for any wedding photos however, there are hidden gems just a stone's throw away from where all the other togs are, some even showing off baby seals.
Old Barn at South Durras Lakes.
This one is definitely highly recommended but a little out of the way unless you are nearby. To get here from Sydney you follow the A1 towards Batemans Bay from Sydney until you see the turn off onto Durras Rd heading towards South Durras. As soon as you turn onto Durras Rd you should see it on the left hand side. You should be able to stop your car anywhere on the grass along the side of the road as it is a very quiet road. The Barn faces north west from the closest spot on the road so sunset photography or night time photography would be your best bet.
